LA VOZ is a club that was created in 2005 by Ms. Cook, Mrs. DeMeritt and Mrs. Peña.   It was created to empower Hispanic students through academics, school involvement, and community service activities.  Every year La Voz invites all NHS students to join, as one of the goals of the club is to share the Hispanic culture and customs with students of other races and ethnicities.  Currently LA VOZ has over 200 members making it one of the biggest clubs at NHS. Every year the La Voz club sponsors a dance called “Reventón” and other activities that are fun and exciting.  LA VOZ have various fundraisings throughout the year and the money raised is used to give back to the community through various venues such as Relay for Life, Scholarships and last but not least helping Hispanic students in need.  One of most important missions of LA VOZ is to motivate Hispanic students to continue their higher education studies and therefore every year LA VOZ offers scholarships to help students continue their education.  LA VOZ is a wonderful organization that helps NHS students build their leadership skills and give them the opportunity to interact in a diverse environment.
